The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for all of southern Connecticut.

"Locally dense fog is expected this morning. Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing visibilities and should use caution if traveling. Slow down, use your low beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Visibilities should begin improving by 10am," according to the weather service.

Besides the fog, you'll notice some big weather changes over the coming days. And this time, these weather changes will be pleasant.

On Saturday, we'll approach the mid 40s, with cloudy skies and a chance for some rain showers Saturday night.

The more noticeable changes begin on Sunday with sunshine developing as the day progresses and high temperatures near 60 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday both look amazing with sunshine and temperatures rising into the mid 60s on Tuesday.

There is a chance of rain Wednesday and Thursday, and temperatures start to drop again by Friday, with high temperatures only in the low to mid 40s. It appears winter isn't over yet.

Today: Areas of drizzle before 10am. Areas of fog before 1pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 43. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Showers likely, mainly between 10pm and 4am. Areas of fog before 10pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 48 by 5am. Southwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday: A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 59. West wind around 8 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 35. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 58. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
