Monroe 2019 Local Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours

MONROE, CT — Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5 to vote in Monroe’s municipal election. The first selectman race is uncontested, but several other seats are up for grabs.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

Ken Kellogg is running unopposed for first selectman.

The candidates for Town Council are Democrats Spencer Wesley, Dee Dee Martin, Phyllis Kansky, Sue Koneff, Jason Maur and Jen Aguilar and Republicans Frank Lieto, Enid Lipeles, Terry Rooney, Sean O’Rourke, Jonathan Formichella and Kevin Reid.

Vida Stone is running unopposed for town clerk.

The town treasurer race is between Democrat Christa DeLeo and Republican Patrick O’Hara.
People running for Board of Finance include Democrat Steve Kirsch and Republicans Craig Hirsch, Rebecca O’Donnell and Dane Krchnavy.

Running for Board of Education are Democrats Nick Kapoor and Alan Vaglivelo and Republicans David Ferris and

For Planning and Zoning it’s Democrat Leon Ambrosey and Republicans Bruno Maini and Ryan Condon.

For P&Z alternates it's Democrat Domenic Paniccia and Republicans Ron Schneider and Robert Westlund.

For constable its Democrat Pat Tomchik versus Republican Victor Yanosy.

Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.

Emergency application ballots are available for unforeseen circumstances within six days of the election.
