Monroe Police Department Looks To Add Officers To Its Ranks
Monroe is one of many Connecticut police departments currently looking to fill officer posts.

MONROE, CT — The Monroe Police Department is looking to add new officers to its ranks, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.
Entry level recruits and certified officers from other departments are invited to apply, and the salary range for the position is $63,038 to $79,688, depending on experience.
Fully staffed, the department has 42 members, and is hiring for two positions, and possibly more due to upcoming retirements, Lt. Stephen Corrone told Patch.

"The entire hiring process will take several months to complete, our hope is to have the process complete by the end of April to mid-May," Corrone said.
Monroe is one of many Connecticut police departments currently looking to fill officer posts, including Southbury and Newtown.

To apply to the Monroe Police Department, a recruit must meet the following criteria, among other requirements:
- Must be 21 years of Age able to obtain Connecticut Driver’s license
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with a high school diploma or equivalency
- No Felony or Class A / B misdemeanor convictions
- Must pass Connecticut Police Chiefs Association written examination
- Cannot have been Dishonorably Discharged from the military service
- Cannot have been terminated for cause from any department of local, state or federal government
- Cannot have tattoos on the face, head, hand, mouth or neck. Additional exposed tattoos subject to department policy review
