• Masuk Football Off To Hot Start After Another Win: Report (patch.com) — Masuk High School's football team in Monroe is off to a strong start after a 28-14 win over North Haven, highlighted by senior Tanner Walker's big night on the ground and through the air. Quarterback Aaron Champagne added two scores as the Panthers built a commanding lead, keeping their undefeated record intact heading into next week's SWC matchup with Joel Barlow.
   

• Monroe Police Join Regional Effort To Crack Down On Speeding, Reckless Driving (patch.com) — Monroe police are joining neighboring departments in a regional traffic enforcement compact to crack down on speeding, reckless driving, and DUI where residents have raised safety concerns. Town officials say the approach boosts patrols without big new costs, and police are also seeking a state grant for safety upgrades near Hiram Hill at Judd and Stanley roads, an area with a crash history.
   

• Monroe Farmers' Market recognized as one of the best in Fairfield County (themonroesun.com) — Monroe's weekly farmers' market has been named a 2026 finalist for Best Farmers' Market in Fairfield County, earning a town hall ceremony and official proclamation. Local leaders praised the market's vendors, volunteers, and town staff, and reminded residents it runs every Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. on the Monroe Green in front of Town Hall.
