Morning Drive Radio Host Celebrates 32 Years on the Air

Tom Chute, 'the King of Culture' at WATR AM in Waterbury, marked 32 years on the air at the station on Tuesday morning.

Waterbury, CT - Tom Chute was broadcasting on Tuesday morning during the drive time hours of 6:30am to 9:00am as he usually does on weekday morning. He joked with his news director Christopher Fortier, spoke with financial reporter Joseph Stango on the phone and played those golden oldies that his listeners love. However, this particular morning was special because it marked 32 years on the air at WATR Radio 1320 AM.

The WATR news director posted the photo above today on Facebook in honor of Mr. Chute's anniversary of hosting the third-longest continuously running morning drive radio show in Connecticut. Many listeners posted their congratulations and best wishes beneath the photo.

"There’s no finer gentleman in Connecticut’s entertainment industry." wrote Elinor Brainerd-Silva Gregory.
