Waterbury Crash Victim Identified As National Guard Member
The teen killed in the wreck has been identified as a National Guard member who was supposed to be getting married this week.

WATERBURY, CT — The teen killed in a two-car crash in Waterbury on Tuesday morning has been identified, according to NBC CT. Josue Alicea-Tirado, 19, of Waterbury, was a member of the National Guard with C Co., 1-102nd Infantry.
He was killed days before he was supposed to be getting married, according to NBC CT.
He was a mechanic in his private life and had been with the National Guard for two years.

Members of the National Guard expressed their condolences following Alicea-Tirado's death.
Maj. Gen. Fran Evon tweeted: "I want to send my condolences to the family, friends, and battle buddies of Spc. Josue Alicea-Tirado. The loss of this young man so close to what should have been the happiest day of his life makes this tragedy even harder to digest."

Alicea-Tirado died in a motor vehicle crash Tuesday around 5:20 a.m. on Watertown Avenue in Waterbury. The other driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Alicea-Tirado died from his injuries a short while after the crash, WTNH News-8 reported.
A parked, unoccupied vehicle was also hit and damaged in the wreck.
