Jennifer Farber Dulos' Mother Agrees To Psych Evaluation
Estranged and accused husband Fotis Dulos requested that his mother-in-law undergo a psychological evaluation in the child custody battle.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Gloria Farber, the mother of missing New Canaan mom Jennifer Farber Dulos, has agreed to undergo the psychological evaluation requested by her estranged son-in-law Fotis Dulos, according to a recent court filing.
Attorneys for Fotis Dulos requested the evaluation in a motion last week as part of the bitter, ongoing child custody case between the two. Fotis and Jennifer Dulos were in the midst of a contentious two-year divorce proceeding at the time of her disappearance on May 24, and her mother has been granted temporary custody of the five Dulos children.
Farber is now seeking sole custody of the children, but Fotis Dulos' attorneys questioned Farber's mental health, even claiming that Farber "has previously been psychiatrically hospitalized."

In this weekend's court filing, attorneys for Farber claim that Fotis Dulos is attempting to "publicly shame" her and, by extension, anyone who may have successfully dealt with mental health issues in their past.
Farber's attorneys also claim that Fotis Dulos' filing "demonstrates his capacity for cruelty," in part because it mentions elements of the divorce case that were not supposed to be made public.

"Instead of filing a straightforward motion for psychological evaluation, as is done in countless dissolution proceedings, the defendant's motion is intended to be salacious and again demonstrates his capacity for cruelty , inability to abide by court orders and his efforts to publicly shame Mrs. Farber as he did to his wife in the context of the earlier divorce proceedings," Farber's filing states.
"Mrs. Farber is the person upon whom the defendant relied to support his wife and children during the pendency of their divorce, prior to his wife's violent disappearance. Mr. and Mrs. Farber financed the defendant's business and kept it afloat during the marriage. He now lives in a home and neglects to pay the mortgage to the Farber estate. Most Importantly, Mrs. Farber has steadfastly demonstrated her devotion to her grandchildren and competence to provide for them financially, physically and emotionally especially since their mother, whose demise is greatly feared, went missing."
Farber's attorneys also stipulate that while she agrees to a psychological evaluation, Farber also wants Fotis Dulos to undergo a similar evaluation.
Fotis Dulos, and his ex-girlfriend Michelle Troconis, were arrested a week after Jennifer Dulos' disappearance and charged with evidence tampering and hindering a prosecution in the case.
They have both pleaded not guilty, and authorities are continuing the investigation into Jennifer Dulos' disappearance.
