STAMFORD, CT — Michelle Troconis, one of two remaining defendants in the Jennifer Farber Dulos disappearance case, had the GPS monitoring device removed from her ankle Thursday after nearly four years, according to media reports.

Troconis has worn the device since her arrest in early June 2019, roughly a week after Jennifer Dulos disappeared from her New Canaan home. Jennifer Dulos' body has not been found, and she is presumed to be dead.

On Thursday, Troconis' attorney, Jon Schoenhorn, convinced Stamford Superior Court Judge Gary White to have the device removed. Schoenhorn filed a series of motions over a couple of years to have the device removed.

Troconis is free on bond of more than $2 million, and Schoenhorn argued that she has been in compliance with all requirements of her release, during which time she has been free to travel to other states.

Patch reached out to Schoenhorn for comment, but did not immediately receive a reply.

"I disagree with the defense that the bracelet shouldn’t have been put on in the first place, but given her history, I don’t think the bracelet continues to be necessary," White said, as quoted by the Stamford Advocate.

News 12 Connecticut reported that although the GPS anklet was removed, the court will retain Troconis' passport.

Jennifer Dulos vanished on May 24, 2019, and her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, was accused of kidnapping and murdering her. The two were in the midst of a contentious divorce and custody fight over their five children at the time of her disappearance.

Fotis Dulos never stood trial in the case, because he took his own life in January 2020.
