NEW CANAAN, CT — Jennifer Farber Dulos, the 50-year-old mother of five, vanished from her New Canaan home three years ago on Tuesday, and for her family, they continue to "feel the immeasurable loss of her person every day."

She had just returned home from dropping her children off at school when, police and prosecutors believe, she was attacked in the garage by her estranged husband, the late Fotis Dulos, 51. He then bundled up her body and took off with it in her SUV, which he abandoned at Waveny Park, according to authorities.

What happened to Jennifer's remains, which have not been found, remains a mystery. Fotis was arrested and charged with kidnapping and murdering Jennifer, but he took his own life eight months later.

"There is still an open investigation into Jennifer’s murder and disappearance, and we are indebted to the Connecticut State Police for their ongoing dedication to this case. As court proceedings have resumed, we await the next steps in the legal process for the two key individuals who have yet to stand trial.

"Above all, we miss Jennifer more than words can express, and we are thankful for the continuing support. In Jennifer’s memory, we ask that you hold your loved ones extra close and make time to laugh with friends. Please also remember that there are many missing and murdered people whose stories are never covered in the press, whose families and loved ones continue to grieve. You can help by supporting local organizations that assist survivors of intimate partner violence and by encouraging the press to give equal attention to all victims."

The "two key individuals" Luft mentioned are Fotis' former girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, and former attorney, Kent Mawhinney, who have both been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Prosecutors accuse the two of helping Fotis in the murder plot; they both deny the allegation and have pleaded not guilty.

Their cases continue to slowly wind their way through the court system, with Troconis's next pre-trial appearance scheduled for June 7.
