New Canaan High Students Receive Scholastic Art Awards

NEW CANAAN, CT — Several New Canaan students were announced as winners in this year's 2024 Connecticut Regional Scholastic Art Awards.
According to a news release provided by New Canaan Public Schoola, the Connecticut Art Education Association announced on Jan. 10 the recipients of the prestigious 2024 Connecticut Regional Scholastic Awards.

The Scholastics Art Awards celebrates achievements in skill, creativity, and personal voice.
Thirteen New Canaan High School students were selected as Honorable Mention, Silver Key, and Gold Key winners, according to the school district.

Mia Lockyer, Cara Passios, Isabella Sarracino, Henyerson Tolentino, and Kailey Marti all received Gold Key awards for their entries. Cara Passios also received the Connecticut Arts Administration Association's Best in Photography Award.
According to district officials, the Gold Key winners will be moving on to compete in the National Awards where, if selected, are eligible to receive scholarships and recognition across the U.S.
