Sister Of Fotis Dulos Defends Brother In Missing Mom Case: Report

NEW CANAAN, CT — Rena Dulos, the sister of Fotis Dulos, issued a statement to certain press outlets Monday afternoon defending her brother in the case of missing New Canaan mother-of-five Jennifer Dulos, Fotis' estranged wife who disappeared on May 24.

Fotis Dulos, and his ex-girlfriend Michelle Troconis, have been charged in connection with Jennifer Dulos' disappearance, but Rena Dulos paints a portrait of her brother as a loving father who also cared for his elderly parents.

"Is it relevant for me to share with you the story of someone who has wanted to 'go places and see people' yet in the context of a family setting?" Rena Dulos wrote, as quoted from Fox 61. "Who sincerely craves to see his children and be an integral part of their upbringing? And who, despite any personal differences with Jennifer, truly and sincerely holds her in his prayers and who would want nothing more than to know that she is well and could ultimately return to their children?"

Jennifer Dulos, who was in midst of divorcing Fotis Dulos, has been missing for more than five weeks, and both Fotis Dulos and Troconis have pleaded not guilty to charges that they tampered with evidence and hindered prosecution in connection with her disappearance. Both are free on bond, with Troconis due back in court on July 18, and Fotis Dulos due on Aug. 2.

New Canaan police are continuing the investigation and have received more than 1,000 tips in connection with Jennifer Dulos' disappearance.
