New Canaan Mom Jennifer Farber Dulos Still Missing After A Month
Authorities are continuing the investigation into the mother-of-five's disappearance, as her family and friends issue a new statement.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The search for missing New Canaan mother-of-five Jennifer Farber Dulos is a month old, and authorities continue to comb through garbage, follow up on tips and view surveillance video in hopes of finding clues to her disappearance.
"These investigators are continuing to sort through evidence collected, this evidence consist of both physical and digital," stated New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro on Friday. "Additionally Investigators continue to investigate leads and tips as they become known. Currently the New Canaan Police have received nearly 900 tips and over 80 video submissions from requests for video surveillance from both residences and businesses. Physical evidence that was collected through this investigation has been or will be submitted to the State Forensic Lab for further examination."
Jennifer Dulos disappeared on Friday, May 24, and since then New Canaan and state police have led searches of parks, ponds, properties associated with her and/or her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, in New Canaan, Farmington, Avon and Pound Ridge, NY, and the Hartford Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority plant.

A week after Jennifer Dulos' disappearance, Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, were arrested on charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and first-degree hindering prosecution. The two were spotted on surveillance video dumping garbage bags and other items in Hartford not long after Jennifer Dulos disappeared, and authorities said some of the items police recovered were stained with Jennifer Dulos' blood.
Additionally, police found blood stains at Jennifer Dulos' New Canaan home, evidence that she may have been the victim of a violent attack.

Both the missing person investigation and the criminal investigation remain open, with the criminal investigation "active and dynamic," with as many as 25 investigators from the two agencies working on it on a daily basis, according to Ferraro.
Earlier reports that the search of the MIRA facility would wind down by Friday were not entirely correct, with Ferraro stating that that aspect of the search "should be concluded in the very near future." Investigators were back at the plant on Friday.
"This is a tedious process and requires careful examination of each item for any connection to the disappearance of Jennifer. An exact ending date for the search taking place at MIRA is not known at this time."
On Friday, Carrie Luft, spokesperson for Jennifer Farber Dulos' family and friends issued a new statement marking the one-month point:
Four weeks have elapsed since Jennifer Farber Dulos disappeared. None of this feels real. We tell ourselves that this kind of nightmare happens to people in stories, not to those we know and love.
But this situation is real, and it is dire. Each passing day intensifies the impact of this tragedy on Jennifer’s children, who have not seen their mother—the guiding presence in their lives—in 28 days.
The New Canaan and Connecticut State police are working around the clock to find Jennifer and to solve the mystery of her disappearance. We are immensely grateful for their dedication. Thank you also to the greater New Canaan and Farmington-Avon communities, who have buoyed our spirits with their support and solidarity.
Many people have asked for more details about Jennifer, as a person, a mom, a friend. Jennifer is brilliant and creative—she graduated with honors from Brown University and earned an MFA in writing from NYU. As a teen, she was a nationally ranked junior squash player. Much more important, Jennifer is a deeply genuine person, compassionate and trustworthy. She is also subtly hilarious. She loves silly movies as much as she loves great literature. An avid traveler, she delights in learning about other people and has imbued her five children with this love of discovery. She cares about her children more than anything in the world.
Please know that the kids are safe and surrounded with love. They are embodying what Jennifer has taught them: to support each other with unity. If she could see them right now, she would be extremely proud.

In the meantime, a forum has been scheduled for June 27 to help parents deal with, and how to speak to their children about, difficult subjects, such Jennifer Dulos' disappearance. The forum will be held at the New Canaan Library.
"We urge everyone with information regarding Jennifer’s disappearance to contact us," Ferraro stated. "Finally we want to thank the communities of both New Canaan, Farmington and Avon for the support and appreciation that has been expressed to members of both the New Canaan Police and Connecticut State Police for their dedication and commitment to this investigation."
