STAMFORD, CT — The state Appellate Court has denied Michelle Troconis' request to have the GPS monitoring device removed from her ankle in connection with the Jennifer Farber Dulos case.

The ruling was handed down earlier this week without an explanation. Troconis is facing conspiracy to commit murder and related charges in the case, and last month Superior Court Judge John Blawie lifted some conditions of her release on bond.

On Wednesday, Troconis' attorney, Jon Schoenhorn, told Patch that the denial of the GPS request was not a big deal. She remains free after posting bond on bail of $2.1 million.

"Since our main topics of concern challenging unfair restrictions involved mandatory probation, house arrest and curfew, that were all lifted by the judge, removing the bracelet was not as critical,"Schoenhorn said in an email to Patch.

However, he added, "I still believe there is no factual or legal basis to keep that condition in place now, and I will continue to seek its removal whenever we have court appearances in the future."

Troconis is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 13. Attorney Kent Mawhinney, who also is facing similar charges in the case, remains in custody and next is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 24.

The two are accused of assisting the late Fotis Dulos in murdering Jennifer Dulos, his estranged wife. Jennifer Dulos vanished on May 24, 2019, and her body has not been found. Fotis Dulos, who was charged with kidnapping and murder, died by suicide in January before he could face trial.
