STAMFORD, CT — A Superior Court judge Wednesday ruled that Michelle Troconis, the woman accused of conspiracy in the killing of Jennifer Farber Dulos, no longer has to be under house arrest but must continue to wear a GPS monitoring device.

Judge John Blawie handed down the ruling Wednesday, two days after Troconis' attorney, Jon Schoenhorn, filed an appeal in the state Appellate Court seeking relief from the conditions of Troconis' release on bond. Blawie had vowed to make a decision on the conditions by the middle of this month, but when he had not ruled by the 21, Schoenhorn filed the motion.

News of Blawie's decision was first reported by News 12 Connecticut's Marissa Alter.

Reached by Patch Wednesday afternoon, Schoenhorn called it a split decision, and said he will continue with the motion in Appellate Court.

In addition to lifting the house arrest, Blawie also lifted the curfew that Troconis was under. But he also ruled that the 45-year-old cannot leave the state without prior permission.

"Although he wrote a thoughtful legal memorandum, I will continue to ask the appellate court to review the requirement of continued GPS monitoring," Schoenhorn told Patch in an email. "We are grateful that the court agreed that the other conditions, including curfew and house arrest should be removed, and that she is permitted to travel out of state with prior permission."

Troconis is free after posting a $2.1 million bond in connection with the case. The other suspect in the case, attorney Kent Mawhinney, remains in custody, unable to post bond on his $2 million bail. Troconis is next scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 1; Mawhinney's next appearance is Dec. 24.

The two are accused of assisting the late Fotis Dulos kill his estranged wife, Jennifer Dulos, in May 2019. Jennifer vanished on May 24, and her body has not been found.
