2 Stabbings Reported In New Haven, Police Say

Two victims were injured in incidents reported Monday afternoon and evening, according to police.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating two stabbings that appear to be separate incidents.

The first was reported Monday at 2:55 p.m. at an abandoned building in the 200 block of Winthrop Ave.

The victim, a 35-year-old with no known address, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

"The victim provided several different accounts of the incident," police said in a statement.

Then at 6:06 p.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to Jennings Way and Pollard Street on a report of a stabbing.

The victim, a 25-year-old man from New Haven, was taken by private vehicle to the St. Raphael's campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital. He had suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

He was in a vehicle on Jennings Way when he was "attacked by a male familiar to him," police said.

Police said the incidents appear to be unrelated.
