Officers were called around 10:29 a.m., initially reporting his injuries as critical and life-threatening, and are urging residents to stay tuned for further updates as they work the case.

Hamden Man, 35, Critically Injured In Single Motorcycle Crash Into Beaver Ponds Near SCSU Campus (patch.com) โ€” Emergency crews in New Haven pulled a 35-year-old Hamden motorcyclist from Beaver Ponds near the Southern Connecticut State University campus after a pre-dawn crash off Ella T. Grasso Boulevard. Firefighters, EMTs, and bystanders helped rescue the unconscious rider, who remains in critical, life-threatening condition at Yale New Haven Hospital as police accident investigators examine what happened.

State Sends $350K For Special Ed Programming, Feds Send $100K For Amistad Exhibit Upgrades (newhavenindependent.org) โ€” New Haven Public Schools will receive $350,000 in new state funding to expand special education training and programs that keep more highโ€‘needs students inโ€‘district. Another $97,250 federal grant will help Discovering Amistad modernize exhibits and educational experiences tied to the Amistad Freedom Schooner, broadening access for local students and residents.

Animal rescue rehabilitates four puppies found abandoned next to New Haven dumpster (nbcconnecticut.com) โ€” New Haven Animal Control and police are investigating who abandoned newborn puppies in a hamper beside a city dumpster, after a passerby rushed them to safety. Four pups are now receiving intensive care through Army's Legacy Rescue and a Guilford animal hospital, while a $5,000 reward is offered for tips leading to an arrest.
