Man Threatened People With Knife: New Haven Police

A man was arrested after police said he was threatening people with a knife in New Haven.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man was arrested after police said he was threatening people with a knife Thursday night in New Haven.

Police responded around 11:25 p.m. on Feb. 26 to the 300 block of Whalley Avenue on the report of a man threatening people with a knife.

The victim reported that the man, later identified as 33-year-old Alex Lawrence of New Haven, was last seen in the area of Sherman Avenue and Winthrop Avenue, according to police.

Police said officers found Lawrence and he was taken into custody without incident. He was found in the possession of a knife, according to police.

Lawrence was charged with second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. He was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
