State Trooper Sent to Hospital After New Haven Highway Crash
The trooper's vehicle was rear-ended while waiting for a tow truck.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A State Police trooper was injured after his cruiser was rear-ended on I-91 northbound in New Haven Jan. 29.
The trooper's vehicle was parked in the center lane with emergency lights on behind another vehicle that was disabled due to an earlier accident, police said.
The trooper was waiting for a tow truck to arrive on scene when his cruiser was rear-ended by a New Haven man. The man was extremely uncooperative and had to be handcuffed to a gurney to restrain him, police said.

The trooper, identified as John Acampora, 26, was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital after he complained of neck and back pain. The driver of the vehicle that rear-ended him, James Graham, 40, was also transported to the hospital.
Police continue to investigate.
