Newington Cops Looking for Woman Who Scoffed Up Forgotten 'Cash Back' at Supermarket

The deed was captured on a supermarket surveillance camera, police said.

NEWINGTON, CT — Local police said they are looking for a woman who scoffed up some cash inadvertently left behind at a supermarket self-checkout lane.

The theft took place on Jan. 14, police said.

At about 5:30 p.m. that day, a customer requested cash back from a Price Chopper self-checkout aisle and forgot to take the cash from the dispenser, police said.

A woman, who was captured on a surveillance camera, then walked over and took cash from the dispenser, police said.

Police are now looking for her after extracted and distributing an image from surveillance footage.

Police said from the video, she appears to be a Caucasian or Hispanic, in her mid-late 30s and possibly in the late stages of pregnancy (in mid-January).
