2-Alarm Fire Rips Through New London Building: Report
Firefighters fought the blaze Wednesday at what is believed to be a vacant building.
NEW LONDON, CT — Firefighters extinguished a two-alarm blaze at a multifamily home at 28 Rogers St. on Wednesday afternoon, The New London Day reported. The fire was reported at 12:50 p.m., and crews arrived to find flames erupting from the building's windows.
Neighbors told The New London Day that they believed the building had been vacant for years. The manager of a neighboring building said the home is a frequent hangout for squatters.
The fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
