Expressiones Cultural Center is very proud to share with our entire community the art of three invited artists from Chile.  Barbara Miller, Carmen Gloria Marystani and Luis Wigdosky.

They come to Expressiones Cultural Center to close the Hispanic Heritage Celebration.

Luis Wigdorksy, Chilean actor and photographer currently living in New London, presents a body of photographs named Carousel Summer.” A Photographic Installation by Luis Wigdorsky and Poetry by Jorge Luis Borges. The idea to do this photographic installation with poetry was born with a simple but very significant meeting at Ocean Beach Park in New London and ended up being related to two victims of September 11.

Barbara Miller. This artist presents a body of oil canvas and works on paper named “Women” .

A tribute to all the woman. “Isolated from the noise of Santiago, in the quiet of my workshop, I decided to pay homage to women: to the friend, the daughter, the star, the suffering, the one nearby and the one unknown. In the stillness I begin to find her essence, that of giving of herself to others, from her heart, regardless of the circumstances, showing her greatness and her vulnerability.”

Carmen Gloria Marystani. “Highlights” “Reflexiones” is the name of her current series of paintings.

“I do not pretend anything specific; these paintings are only to make people feel emotions. In creating these paintings I pour out many questions and emotions that are obviously not easy to interpret.  My interest is that the person will stop, observe and feel themselves in a different world.”

This is free and open to the public.
