Expressiones Cultural Center is very proud to present this exhibit that brings our second artist of the Summer, this time from Chile: Ignacio Gana. A magical journey through Latin American surrealism. Present in the literature, this time living in the work of this formidable Chilean Artist!. Mr. Gana comes Expressiones as our first visiting artist. Not only to exhibit his Art but also to show a series of videos related to his work  within a  preject conducted in conjunction with the Chilean government exposing the very smooth line between arts and craft.

“In my painting, the color constructs a permanent presence and it's manifestation is an essential characteristic.  The chromatic colors are attracted and trapped and become the protagonists of space on the canvas. Colors that are warm, static, vibrant and moving to invite and   contemplate an “unreal reality” appearing only intercepted by lines that define the forms and suggest movement.Looking through the canvas,  the palette and the brush build a stage where the scene itself is diluted and falls into the realm of individual and collective thinking. It is through this suggestion that my work becomes complicit with the observer and communication occurs between them to fulfill the creative act. Through the inclusion of characters, an almost idyllic wilderness of thought actively seeks creative functionality, opening a the door of experience to the viewer. It gives life to the painted surface and becomes a pathway for rapid communication.
