On Tuesday, November 22nd New London High School will welcome Corporal Derek Farrington to the English classes taught by Mr. Evan O’Neill. A Colchester native, Corporal Farrington has served 3 tours in Iraq/Afghanistan. He is married with a new baby on the way. He will be bringing physical items and videos with him and speak to each of Mr. O’Neill’s 5 classes beginning at 7:30. This very distinguished visitor and his experiences align with the English curriculum and their current reading of The Things They Carried, a novel set in Vietnam.
