Water Water Everywhere

Rave reviews seem to follow each Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra performance!  Another concert in the series entitled, “Water, Water, Everywhere!” is on the horizon for Saturday, March 19th at 8 PM, at the Garde Arts Center in New London.  ECSO Music Director, Toshi Shimada, conducts an exciting and varied program which includes Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3, Britten’s Lachrymae performed by violist, Barb Wiggin, Pas de Deux, written by the young composer, Lauren Loiacano, (who will be there that evening,)  Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides,( Fingal’s Cave,) and Debussy’s La mer. 

The optional pre-concert lecture at 7 PM will be given in teams, first by Stephan Tieszen, ECSO Concertmaster with Barb Wiggins, ECSO Principal Violist, and the featured soloist, followed by composer, Lauren Loiacano along with music director Toshi Shimada.  Tickets to this concert sponsored by Connecticut Light & Power/ Yankee Gas are available priced from $27-$54; rush tickets for students are available at 6 PM for $12.  Tickets can be purchased on the Internet at:  www.gardearts.org or call the Eastern Connecticut Symphony office at 860-443-2876.
