L+M Feature Friday -- LAMBS Raise Funds for L+M

The Lawrence + Memorial Benefactors Society, better known as “The LAMBS,” held its annual summer party at the Branford House in Groton recently, with nearly 400 members and guests sharing a fantastic evening of food, drink and, mostly, fun. The threat of inclement weather didn’t seem to damper anyone’s spirits, as people meandered from interior rooms of the gorgeous Branford House mansion on UConn’s Avery Point campus out to the mansion’s stone patio overlooking Long Island Sound. As with all LAMBS parties, there was an open bar, delicious food such as shrimp, salmon and prime rib, and a mix of people from all area towns and all professions, including hospital staff. LAMBS members pay annual dues of $125 or $200, depending on the members’ choice, to help support L+M. Over the last 53 years, the LAMBS has raised more than $3 million, underwriting programs and buying equipment that has affected nearly every medical discipline. Hospital employees and community members are invited to join the LAMBS. The Society holds parties twice a year so join now and you can attend the next bash this fall. For more information on joining, contact Graham Gavert in L+M’s Development Office at 860.442.0711, ext. 2240.
