Medical Examiner Rules Fatal New London Shooting Homicide: Report
A recent fatal New London shooting has been ruled a homicide by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

NEW LONDON, CT - The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner revealed Wednesday the fatal shooting that took place over the weekend in New London was a homicide, as reported by the New London Day. The incident occurred Saturday around 3 p.m., police said.
Officials at the office have confirmed the manner of the victim's death to be homicide, caused by a gunshot wound to the head, the New London Day reports.

The victim was revealed by police to be 21-year-old Quvonte Andre Gray of New London on Tuesday. Police said Gray was a resident of Florida but frequently visited New London for extended periods of time.

At 3:13 p.m. on Saturday, police received a 911 call from 111 Montauk Avenue reporting a shooting at 4 Orchard Street, police said. Police and fire personnel responded and found a young male with a gun shot wound to the head inside the basement apartment of 4 Orchard Street, police said.
The male was pronounced deceased by medics on scene. The scene was secured and a canvass of the area was initiated.
New London police detectives along with the Connecticut State Police-Eastern District Major Crime Squad and the New London States Attorney's office responded to investigate the incident.
