NEW LONDON, CT — City officials are taking a step back and looking into alternatives regarding the implementation of a pay-as-you-throw trash disposal program, the New London Day reported. The idea has been met with criticism from some residents since the city began discussing the possibility.
According to the Day, the City Council voted Monday to move the issue into the Public Works and Finance committees. The council may now pitch forming a task force to evaluate recycling and waste management techniques based on a number of factors and what would be the best for the community.
