New London Hires New Director of Human Services

Jeanne Milstein retired as Connecticut's Child Advocate in 2012.

Jeanne Milstein, a retired former state Child Advocate, has been selected by Mayor Michael Passero to be New London’s new Director of Human Services.

Milstein is expected to begin her new job on Feb. 22. The city position has been unfunded since the elimination of the Social Services Department in 2005, reports The Day.

“I just can’t tell you how pleased I am to bring on this amazing talent,” Passero told The Day. “Jeanne Milstein has been involved her whole life in the business of human services.”
