New London Police Arrest Suspect in Attempted Armed Robbery
A masked man attempted to rob the Ravi Mart on Bank Street early Tuesday morning.

New London police have arrested the suspect in the early Tuesday morning attempted armed robbery of the Ravi Mart at 268 Bank Street.
Detectives received information on the suspect and New London police responded to 9 Pearl St. Apt. 3 where Kirk Skinner, 49, was interviewed and confirmed to be responsible for the attempted robbery, according to a police press release.
Police said that evidence at the scene linked Skinner to the attempted robbery and he was taken into custody without incident.

Skinner was charged with first-degree criminal attempt robbery and criminal possession of a firearm. Police said Skinner has previous convictions for robbery and is currently on probation.
