Victim Identified In Fatal New London Stabbing: PD
Police said they have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred in New London.

NEW LONDON, CT - Police said they have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred late Sunday in New London. This incident was the second homicide reported over the weekend, according to police.
The identity of the victim has been confirmed as Robert Pomerleau, 49, of New London, according to a release.
Police said Tuesday a suspect, 44-year old Patrick McInerney of New London, was arrested and has been charged with murder.

At about 8:35 p.m. Sunday, police received a 911 call conceding a male stabbed in the chest at 39 Tilley Street. When police and fire crews arrived on the scene they found an adult male with a stab wound to the upper chest lying on the steps of the 2nd floor of 39 Tilley Street, police said.

Medical attention was immediately initiated on the located victim. The male was subsequently transported to L+M Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, police said. The scene was secured and a canvass of the area was initiated by police.
New London police detectives responded to investigate the incident. The New London States Attorney's office also responded to the scene, police said.
