To the People of Newtown

No matter how strongly you may feel that you are alone, you are not.  If you believe in nothing else, believe that.

You ask for answers ,though I have none to give.  I am but a man, born on a winters morn in Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth (Pennsylvania).  When I think about what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School, I feel your overwhelming pain and sorrow, deep down within my soul.  If there were words I could offer to take away your heartache, I would speak them over and over.

Like answers, there are no words to ease the pain.  All I can provide you with is an assurance that each of the women and children who were taken from you are home now, safe from the ills of this world.  They did not suffer and they did not make the trip alone.  While we watched the day's events unfold, they reconnected with lost loved ones and met family members who had gone before them.  They are surrounded by love and reside in a land of peace, waiting for the day when you join them.

The same is true of the innocent victims in Connecticut, Ohio, California, Illinois, Virginia, Minnesota, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Pennsylvania and everywhere else evil has shown itself.  Nobody is ever alone when they move from this world to the next, unless they choose to be.

There are various different religions on Earth and each serves a purpose.  Those who claim to understand those purpose or profess that you must believe one over the other to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, are mistaken.  Some seek to mislead you on purpose.  Others have good intentions, but have confused notions of humanity with that which is divine.  A human being can cage the wind sooner than give you the answers you seek.

There is a God and that God is one of love, peace and understanding.  Heaven is not a goal to be earned or achieved.  Heaven's gates are opened to all who believe and request admittance.  The decision to enter is yours and yours alone.

Evil is not a man.  It is an entity, just as powerful and real as Goodness. Evil is defeated by love and many battles have been won, while sadly, many have also been lost.  The war is ages old and will continue to be fought until the end.  While the notion of fairness is manmade, know that you are never alone, through heartbreak and glad times. 

Trust that nothing in this world is random and righteousness awaits you in the next. Are you willing to have faith in that which you can not see?  I am.  Peace be with you.
