Judy Grabarz of Newtown Florist will present "Demystifying Flower Arrangements" at the next meeting of the Garden Club of Newtown on Mar. 24
The March meeting of The Garden Club of Newtown will feature Judy Grabarz, owner of Newtown Florist, with an informative and inspiring presentation entitled Demystifying Flower Arrangements, at the C.H. Booth Library at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24th. This program was rescheduled from the January 27th meeting, which was cancelled due to inclement weather.
At the upcoming program, Judy will discuss floral design basics and flower selection while creating several small arrangements which will be raffled off at the conclusion of the presentation. Judy welcomes questions from her audience to tailor the presentation to their specific interests and concerns. She stresses that design is subjective and personal but quality of construction and materials help to create an attractive and pleasing result. According to Judy, practice and confidence are ks to success in floral design.
Coupled with her art and design background, Judy began her career in floral design in the early 1970’s as an apprentice in a Greenwich, CT florist shop. She has supplemented her personal creativity and years of experience with on-going instructional programs through such organizations as Teleflora. Judy is a past recipient of the Florist Improvement Award by the Connecticut Floral Association.
