Several Recent Thefts Reported in Newtown
Both homes and businesses targeted in recent thefts in Newtown.

Editor’s Note: We first ran this story on April 23 but ICYMI several thefts were recently reported in Newtown. Here are the details again.
In five separate incidents reported to Newtown Police recently, local residents and two local business said various items were stolen, including two purse thefts.

In the first incident, it was reported to police on April 11 that sometime during the overnight hours between April 10 and April 11, someone entered the residence at 47 Flat Swamp Road and took a purse.
Another reported purse theft occurred between April 19 and April 20 in which an unknown person broke into a parked and locked motor vehicle on 7 Mt. Laurel Road, Newtown. The unknown person used a rock to smash the passenger side window of a 2006 Honda Element and removed a handbag that was located on the center console.

The homeowner of 3 Jeremiah Road reported a burglary on April 13, stating that sometime between March 31 and April 13, an unknown person(s) entered an unlocked shed located in the backyard. It was reported that one Stihl backpack blower and two Stihl hand blowers were taken.
The senior facilities technician of Taunton Press, 63 South Main Street, also reported a theft on April 13 from a business van. It was reported that sometime between April 8 at about 5 p.m. and April 9 at about 2 p.m., an unknown person(s) entered an unlocked business van that was parked in the rear of the building. It was reported that several work related items were stolen.
The CVS located on 6 Queen Street reported a larceny to police on April 19. The suspect was seen leaving the store in a dark-colored Volkswagon Passat or Jetta.
