"I would draw drawings for the pilots," he said. "I would do this with the ultimate goal of handing my drawing to the pilot and hoping he would let me in to look at the cockpit."
Lintz, a junior at Newtown High School, made a presentation to the Board of Education this week, reviewing his Junior Project Presentation on creating a pilot's guide.
"I hope one day to be come a professional pilot," he told the board.
Lintz, through his junior project class, was able to get a taste of what it feels like to pilot an aircraft after a mentor, whom he met through the high school, was able to gain him access to a military flight simulator.
His passion for aviation is endless, though his family's pocketbook is not, which is one of the reasons why his path toward gaining a pilot's license has been slow going, Lintz and his parents said.
But no one doubts Lintz will eventually reach his goal. Watch for him, and for all of those aspiring pilots out there, don't forget to bring along your drawings.
