Bloomingdale's Plans To Open Store in Norwalk
The 150,000-square foot shopping mecca will be located in the Reed Putnam Urban Renewal area where Nordstrom also plans to open a store.

It appears that shopping options in Norwalk will be growing by leaps and bounds — although it be some time before shoppers will be carrying the infamous little brown bags.
The veritable department store Bloomingdale’s has announced plans to open a 150,000 square foot, three-level store in the 95/7 shopping, dining and entertainment center being developed by General Growth Properties (GGP) at the intersection of West Avenue and North Water Street in the Reed Putnam Urban Renewal area (95/7), according to reports.
The store, which is expected to open in the fall of 2018, will include an assortment of designer and luxury goods, including women’s apparel, shoes, accessories, beauty, men’s, kids and home, and employ about 200, according to MarketWatch. The Norwalk will be the 41st Bloomingdale’s store location.

Tony Spring, chairman and chief executive officer of Bloomingdale’s, told MarketWatch, “This spectacular new shopping center will be a distinctive and upscale destination for Fairfield County and surrounding areas, prominently positioned at I-95 and Highway 7.”
The announcement follows on the heels of an announcement in late February from Nordstrom that it plans to open a full-line store in the same center. Nordstrom announced it will be an anchor tenant of GGP’s 700,000-plus-square-foot enclosed regional retail center. Nordstrom also plans a fall 2018 opening.
