Former Norwalk Youth Minister Pleads Guilty To Sex Abuse Of A Minor: Report
The former Norwalk youth minister is accused of paying an intellectually disabled teenager to have sex with him in a Shelton basement.
NORWALK, CT — A 45-year-old former Norwalk youth minister accused of paying an intellectually disabled teenager to have sex with him in the basement of his Shelton home pleaded guilty Wednesday to commercial sex abuse of a minor, the Connecticut Post reports.
According to the Connecticut Post, Shelton police began investigating Jean Bernard in 2022 after he was accused of sexual abuse in Norwalk, where he previously served as a youth minister. Court officials said Bernard also told the teen he could be deported to Haiti if he told his father what happened.
