New Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream Scoop Shop Now Open At Norwalk Mall

A new Häagen-Dazs scoop shop is now open at the SoNo Collection mall, offering a wide variety of ice cream flavors and other frozen treats.

NORWALK, CT — A new Häagen-Dazs ice cream scoop shop is now open at the SoNo Collection shopping mall in Norwalk.

Häagen-Dazs and mall officials confirmed back in December plans to open a new scoop shop at the SoNo Collection in early 2024.

The scoop shop is currently operating on the mall's third floor, between the Starbucks coffee shop and Journeys store near Nordstrom, offering a variety of ice cream flavors the iconic brand is known for.

Requests for comment from Häagen-Dazs and Brookfield Properties, the mall's operator, were not returned as of Monday afternoon.

In addition to scoops of ice cream, the Norwalk location also boasts a menu of sundaes, milkshakes and other frozen drinks, including coffee frappes and smoothies. Ice cream is also available to-go in pints and quarts.

In December, a representative for Dreyer's, which produces Häagen-Dazs products in the U.S., initially hinted the new scoop shop would open at the mall around mid-March. A large sign advertising "deliciousness coming soon" was also set up on the third floor of the mall prior to the holiday season.

Greater Norwalk Chamber President Brian Griffin said last year the chamber was pleased to see the announcement of another great addition to the SoNo Collection.

"They have been doing an excellent job of continuing to bring in exciting and interesting businesses and experiences into the venue," Griffin said in an email, "and we look forward to the next."

The new scoop shop marks the brand's fourth scoop shop in Connecticut, which also has locations in Danbury, Trumbull and Ledyard.

It is also another new addition to the SoNo Collection's roster of dining and retail experiences, which recently gained a new Charlotte Russe store on the second floor and said goodbye to The Body Shop and Michaels Jewelers stores on the first and second floors respectively.

On Friday, iconic pizzeria Sally's Appizza confirmed to Patch a long-awaited Norwalk restaurant location will open at the SoNo Collection later this year.

"Ideally, we look to open in lifestyle centers or in locations that are walkable to some percentage of the community," Sally's COO Ted Zizlsperger said in a statement sent to Patch. "The SoNo Collection Mall met these expectations and we are excited to open there later this year."
