• Norwalk faces major budget challenges, including $3.3 million healthcare gap (nhregister.com) — Norwalk officials are warning that a $3.3 million healthcare shortfall tied to teachers' insurance choices could significantly squeeze the 2027-28 city and school budgets, even after this year's education increase. With fuel costs rising and a new state mandate likely cutting up to $1.2 million in revenue, leaders, unions, and the Board of Education must quickly find fixes that could affect services and future taxes.
