Expand Development, Cut Spending, Says Norwich's Nystrom: Report
The mayor is recommending an aggressive agenda to help the city.

NORWICH, CT — Boost economic development in the city, but also cut spending, Norwich Mayor Peter Nystrom outlined this week in his state-of-the-city address, reports The Day. Nystrom wants to see Norwich continue to provide the services residents expect, but he hopes to reduce spending and cut taxes with the help of a Republican-majority City Council that he helped usher in.
To help revitalize the city, he also hopes that Norwich can become a destination for new business and capital, particularly in the Greeneville, Thamesville and the West Side, according to the publication.
The Republican was re-elected to the city's top office in the fall, though his terms were interrupted by the tenure of former Democratic Mayor Deberey Hinchey.
