Norwich Man Charged With Murdering Pregnant Wife to Undergo Competency Evaluation

He will need to be deemed competent to stand trial.

NORWICH, CT- A competency evaluation was ordered Tuesday for a man accused of killing his wife and unborn baby in June, The Day reported.

Patch previously reported on Patrick Antoine last month for allegedly killing his pregnant wife and setting their apartment on fire, before turning himself into the police. He had then pleaded not guilty on charges brought against him.

Antoine will be evaluated by a clinical team at Garner Correctional Institution, according to The Day. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 23.
