Donations Sought For Oxford High Field Damage

The community is pulling together to help raise funds to get the field fixed.

(Quaker Farms Fire Co.)

OXFORD, CT — Oxford Little League Softball will help gather donations to help pay for damage to the high school field that occurred after the Quaker Farms Fire Company's annual fireworks and carnival event.

Someone decided to take a vehicle and do donuts in the field, which now requires resodding. The QFFC is responsible for the damages because they had the field for the day. The carnival's proceeds normally go to help fund equipment purchases for the volunteer fire department, but the damage is so great that proceeds would have to go to repairing the field, Oxford Fire-Rescue said on Facebook.

OLLS will help collect donations from Aug. 5 through sometime in September.
