Oxford 2021 Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours

Here's what you need to know concerning the 2021 Oxford local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

OXFORD, CT — Oxford residents will head to the polls on Nov. 2 to cast votes for the municipal election. The position of first selectman, spots on the boards of selectmen and finance, the planning and zoning commissioners, and others, are all up for grabs.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

You can request an absentee ballot here or you can visit your town clerk's office. All voters are eligible to check the top box that lists "COVID-19" as a reason for requesting an absentee ballot.

In Oxford, Republican incumbent First Selectman George R. Temple is seeking a sixth term and is opposed by Bull Moose Party challenger Tanya Carver. For the Board of Selectmen, one seat is available; Democrat David W. McKane is running against Republican Arnold Jensen and Bull Moose candidate Alan S. Goldstone.

Board of Finance (vote for up to three) — Democrats Eric D. Goldstein; Robert Campbell; and Susan L. Arpin against Republicans Paula Jensen and Jack Kiley, and Bull Moose candidate Israel Oscar Perez.

Board of Assessment Appeals (vote for one) — Democrat Nicole Dykstra vs. Republican Martin Wing vs. Bull Moose candidate Edward L. Carver, Jr.

Planning and Zoning Commission (vote for up to four):

Democrats - Joshua Dykstra; Peter Zbras, Sr.

Republicans - Daniel Wall; Patrick Cocchiarella; and Jesse Schremmer

Bull Moose - David L. Stocker
