Ten English students from Eastern Connecticut State University participated in an intensive, week-long Summer Research Institute.

From Eastern CT State University: Ten English students from Eastern Connecticut State University participated in an intensive, weeklong Summer Research Institute from May 14 to 18. The institute challenged students to select a work of literature and then pair it with other works and sources to craft meaningful arguments.

Among the student participants were:

Jenna Petitti '21 of Oxford, who majors in Pre-Secondary Education and English "I chose 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy as my selected literature. I paired it with the pop-culture show 'The Walking Dead' to compare the similarities and differences with the environmental impact and familial relationships between the both works. I want to further my thesis and research to find evidence and use this project experience to help guide me in future research essay assignments."
