• Oxford Charter Changes Could Eliminate Annual Capital-Plan Town Meeting (patch.com) — Oxford officials are weighing a charter change that would replace the annual March Capital Plan Town Meeting with a February public hearing jointly run by the Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance. Residents would still review and comment on a five-year plan for major projects, but no funding would be approved at the hearing, with final project recommendations made later by the selectmen and subject to voter approval.

• Milling and Resurfacing on Route 487 in Southbury and Oxford (ct.gov) — Expect lane closures on Route 487 in Oxford starting September 1 as the state begins milling and resurfacing between Kettletown State Park and Route 67. Weekday work will run 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through September 18, with traffic control guiding drivers and possible schedule changes if weather interferes.

• Missing 73-year-old Shelton man found dead Monday, police say (ctpost.com) — Oxford Fire/EMS and Oxford K9 Search and Rescue played a key role in the multiagency search for a 73-year-old Shelton man who was sadly found dead Monday. Shelton police say the circumstances remain under investigation and thanked all regional partners, volunteers, and residents who helped.
