2. 'It Shouldn't Be A Circus': Ridgefield School Board Approves Revised FY26 Report Showing $37K Surplus (patch.com) — Ridgefield's Board of Education has finalized its fiscal 2026 books with a revised $37,072 surplus, after a deeper review uncovered additional E-Rate revenue, nutrition reimbursements, and legal costs. Officials acknowledged confusing swings from surplus to deficit and outlined new financial controls, audits, and communication steps aimed at preventing similar accounting turmoil in future Ridgefield school budgets.
3. Ridgefield Police Report 2 Crashes With Injuries, Speeding Summons (patch.com) — Ridgefield police are reporting two recent two-car crashes with injuries on Ethan Allen Highway, Cains Hill Road, West Mountain Road, and Oscaleta Road, with all drivers taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation. Officers also clocked a Camaro at 72 mph in a 35 mph zone on Danbury Road, issuing the Bethel driver a misdemeanor speeding summons and a court date in Danbury.
4. Plea deal offered to CT woman accused of poisoning ex's wine, falsifying paternity tests (news12.com) — A former Ridgefield resident has been offered a plea deal that could mean 12 to 15 years in prison after being accused of poisoning an ex-partner's wine at his Ridgefield home and falsifying paternity evidence in a separate case. She remains on home confinement while deciding whether to accept the offer at a November court date.
