Deaths Of Danbury Couple Appear to Be Murder-Suicide: Official
The couple found dead in a Clayton Road home on Monday leave behind three children, between ages 9 and 13, according to a city official.
DANBURY, CT — The man and woman found shot dead in the basement of a Clayton Road home Monday appear to have died in a murder-suicide, according to a City of Danbury spokesperson.
Korene Davis-Smith died from gunshot wounds to the head, neck and torso, according to the state Medical Examiner’s Office. Preston Smith died from a single gunshot wound to the head, and the ME has ruled his death a suicide.
The couple shared three children, between ages 9 and 13, who are currently being cared for by family members, city spokesperson Erin Henry confirmed Tuesday.

Mayor Dean Esposito said he was "deeply saddened by the heartbreaking tragedy that took place on Clayton Road" and urged residents to "help each other and come together as a community during these trying times" in a statement released Tuesday.
