1 Person Killed In House Fire In Derby: Report

The fire was reported at about 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday on Pleasant View Road.

DERBY, CT — One person was killed early Wednesday in a house fire on Pleasant View Road in Derby, wrote the Connecticut Post.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification to next of kin, but Mayor Richard Dziekan reportedly confirmed the death.

"Members entered the structure, located and removed a victim while extinguishing the fire," Derby fire officials wrote about the 12:30 a.m. blaze on Facebook. "Units are still operating on scene."
