DERBY, CT — Former state Rep. Themis Klarides, who is considering a gubernatorial run, announced Tuesday that she has tested positive for the coronavirus and is quarantining at home.
Klarides said she woke up this morning with "mild COVID-19 like symptoms" and tested positive for the virus with an at-home antigen test. She is awaiting results from a PCR test for confirmation.
"I am fully vaccinated and as a result my doctor advises me there is very little threat of developing a serious condition," she wrote on Twitter (see below). "I am devastated that I will not be able to join my friends and fellow Republicans on the trail today and celebrate alongside them tonight. Stay vigilant."
