SHELTON, CT (July 30, 2020) – Iroquois Gas Transmission System recently contributed $5,000 to the Connecticut Food Bank to support the organization’s efforts to provide nutritious food for Connecticut residents struggling with hunger.

“With families facing job losses, financial insecurity, and other challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s now more important than ever to support the organizations leading the effort to alleviate hunger,” said Jeffrey Bruner, President of Iroquois Pipeline Operating Company. “Iroquois is pleased to contribute to the Connecticut Food Bank and help further their mission of addressing food insecurity in the communities they serve.”
Founded in 1982, Connecticut Food Bank provides food to hungry individuals, children, and families in Fairfield, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, and Windham counties. Connecticut Food Bank partners with food retailers, growers, donors, and volunteers to source food and distribute it through a network of community-based programs, including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, residential programs, and day programs, as well as through its Mobile Pantry.

“We’re incredibly grateful for Iroquois’ generosity and appreciate their support of our mission, especially during this challenging time, when so many Connecticut residents are struggling with food insecurity,” said Daniel Gomez, Chief Operating Officer of Connecticut Food Bank. “This donation will help us provide food to people in need throughout our service area.”
