Man Accused Of 2019 Rape In Derby Sentenced To Prison: Report
Waterbury resident Artay Drinks was accused of raping an elderly woman on the Greenway trail in Derby in 2019.
DERBY, CT — A 49-year-old Waterbury man was sentenced to 13 years in prison this week in connection with a 2019 rape of a 75-year-old woman on the Derby Greenway trail, wrote the Connecticut Post.
In the fall of 2021, Artay Drinks pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree sex assault, and related assault violations, and was sentenced Wednesday by Superior Court Judge Peter Brown. Additionally, Drinks will be on the sex offender registry for life.
Drinks was accused of attacking the woman, reportedly as she went for a walk on the trail following her grandson's baseball game.
